01 Why the Foundation Was Created

Most construction technologies gradually lose competitiveness not because they are inherently weak, but because their development stops. When a company faces market pressure, investment in research and development is often reduced. Within a few years the technology ceases to evolve, its engineering base becomes obsolete, and intellectual property loses value.

At 4BRICKS a different approach is applied. ECOS technology is regarded as a long-term engineering system whose development must be systematic and sustainable.

For this purpose the Engineering Heritage Foundation named after Oleg Ivanovich Levchenko was established — a mechanism ensuring the long-term development of ECOS technology and the preservation of the engineering knowledge base.

02 Role of the Foundation

The Engineering Heritage Foundation named after Oleg Ivanovich Levchenko is an institutional mechanism for the development of ECOS technology and the formation of an engineering school around this technology system.

Its task is to ensure systematic work on technology development, accumulation of engineering knowledge and the long-term advancement of next-generation mineral construction materials.

In the longer term the Foundation may bring together industrial partners, research organisations and other institutions interested in the development of mineral technologies with reduced dependence on traditional cement.
